Heritage Bay is this lovely neighborhood tucked away on Snead Island in Palmetto Florida. Once you enter the neighborhood you get the feel of true Florida. Key West style homes are the theme in this tropical neighborhood. They have a tennis court and a swimming pool for community amenities. I have always found this charming neighborhood to be one of my favorites.

The Village Of The Arts is located in Bradenton, close to downtown and located between 9th Ave W and 17th Ave W & between 9th St W and 14th St W.

There are about 40 shops, art studios and galleries located in this neighborhood.

The Artists Guild of Manatee, Inc was formed in the summer of 1999 to create the Village of the Arts in Bradenton. The idea for the community was to develop a neighborhood where artists of all kinds could live, work and run their businesses. Many of the shops & galleries are open to the public during the Friday evening and Saturday afternoon ArtWalks. The streets become filled with people browsing the shops and galleries.

It’s best to bring your walking shoes, camera and pocketbook for a fun afternoon visiting the shops and galleries as well as browsing the eclectic like homes located in the Village of The Arts.

Monthly ArtWalks are the first Friday of the month from 6-9:30pm and the first Saturday of each month from 11-4pm.

In 2003, Klosky’s works were voted “best Censored Art” by the Weekly Planet after having had nine works censored. Open Art Walk Saturdays.

There is talk of making Lakewood Ranch into it’s own city. Even though it’s a huge community with just about everything you need already in place, I’m not sure how happy the residents living there would be about this. What would be the cost of turning Lakewood Ranch into it’s own city? What are the positives and the negatives of doing this? I wonder how many people would move out of the area if this was passed? I’ve not actually ever seen a community transition into a city, so I’m not sure what all is involved with the process and the expense to the residents if they do decide to do this.

I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens and what is voted on.

Located east of Sarasota and just off I-75, Lakewood Ranch is a 7,000-acre master-planned community located on the Sarasota/Manatee county line on the southwest coast of Florida.
